Individual Counselling

Are you finding it challenging to navigate feelings of anger, wondering how to channel and manage it effectively? In the realm of relationships, are you grappling with difficulties, perhaps in the aftermath of a break-up? Do you often feel weighed down by the shadows of depression, or is anxiety making it hard for you to see a clear path forward?

Are the pressures of daily life causing stress that feels overwhelming, leaving you searching for effective stress management techniques? And when it comes to setting boundaries, do you find yourself struggling to define and communicate your needs?

I help provide strategies, and resources that will help you identify areas of strength within yourself.

What do I need to know before I go?

What does the counselling process look like?

Typically we start with weekly sessions, with the first 1-2 giving time for intake and understanding your unique challenges and goals.

We will then work together to make changes in the intervention phase. It will depend on many factors such as the nature of your difficulties and readiness for change, but this can last from a few sessions to a few years.

Once we have sufficiently developed your skills and feel our time together is coming to an end we will work towards terminating our sessions. This typically takes 1-2 sessions, where we develop a “toolbox” of strategies to help you maintain your treatment goals and gains.

You are always welcome to return to counselling. Depending on how much time has passed and the nature of your new concern we may need to do another intake session together.

Effectiveness varies from person to person. Discussing, working with, and changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can be painful and challenging at times. This is all part of the process.

How often do we meet?

You choose based on the goals you have in mind. There are many factors associated with choosing the consistency to meet with a therapist.

What does your schedule look like? Is it within your budget? What are you looking for in terms of support? How much is this problem impacting your life? These are all important questions to ask yourself to determine how often you may want to meet with me.

I would recommend we start with weekly sessions, and then re-evaluate at a later date to determine whether bi-weekly or monthly better suits your needs.

Do you offer in person sessions?

I offer in-person and video sessions. I do have limited availability for in-person and offer it on Thursdays.

Are you covered by insurance plans?

It may be beneficial to check with your provider to determine whether they cover Psychotherapy as part of your plan.

It is also important to ensure you know how much coverage you have and what that may mean for your goals. We can work together to determine the right consistency for your goals and your coverage.

Of course, you can email me if you have any further questions.

Do you have evening and weekend appointments?

I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Evenings. Currently, I do not offer weekend sessions.

What is your fee?

fer individual counselling for $150 + HST and couples counselling for $180 + HST. I have specialized training and experience in working with both couples and individuals.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours notice via email. Anything less than 24 hours notice, I will have to charge a full fee.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please try to do this as soon as you are aware of the conflict in your schedule.
